Sept. 17, 2012 -- The drought of 2012 will long be remembered for its devastating effects on crops across a huge swath of North America's most productive soils. And while late summer rains eased conditions for many, water is still critically short across large areas. 

Following such a different situation, it will pay to re-examine nutrient management practices as farmers plan for their 2013 crops.

Join a panel of subject matter experts on Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 12 noon to 1:30 pm Central Time as they discuss what farmers and their advisers should consider in regards to nutrient management. A variety of situations will be presented that will help farmers make the most of crop inputs while being good stewards of soil and water resources.

• Dr. Scott Murrell, Northcentral Director, International Plant Nutrition Institute

• Mike Plumer, Coordinator, Illinois Council on Best Management Practices

Certified Crop Advisers, Certified Professional Agronomists, American Society of Agronomy members, farmers, the media, and other members of the agricultural community are invited to take part in this special program. It is being offered at no charge, but pre-registration is required. Continuing education units (CEUs) are available.
