Awards & Scholarships

ASA, CSSA, and SSSA awards celebrate students and professionals at all levels across our membership. Each year, we honor award recipients at our CANVAS awards ceremonies, within our Awards Brochure, and in CSA News.

You can nominate a deserving colleague or self-nominate to ensure the best candidates are recognized. Note that you cannot self-nominate for the Fellows Awards, Honorary Memberships, Gerald O. Mott Award or National Student Recognition Program.

How to get started

Review Awards and Scholarships: 

You may want to review the full listings for each of the societies: ASA, CSSA, and SSSA  to better identify appropriate options. 

• Review Eligibility, Qualifications, and Deadline/s for each Award and Scholarship.
• Navigate to our new awards hub to start your nomination.
• Submit the nomination AND required number of reference letters by March 25th, 4:00 pm Central.

Interested in Professional Awards & Fellowship?

• On the awards platform, you will see professional awards split into the following categories:
  • Distinguished Service Awards
  • Early Career Awards
  • Mid-Career Award
  • Education and Extension: Mentorship & Travel Awards
  • Industry: Private sector, non-academic
  • Fellow: The pinnacle of experience and achievement
  • General: All other open awards

Interested in Student Scholarships?

• Undergraduate and Graduate Students are encouraged to apply for scholarships!
• Learn more about and apply for our Golden Opportunity and Greenfield Scholar programs.
• All student scholarships are due by March 25th.

Policies and Notes

• Award committee members may not be a nominee, nominator, or reference for the award for which their committee is responsible. They can participate in all other awards. View the ASA, CSSA, and SSSA Boards of Directors' specific policies regarding their eligibility.
• It is best to use the Society's email address that we have on file. View the Member Directory to view the Society email address.
